Dave and I had the PERFECT Saturday! We got to sleep in (which we haven't done for the longest time....), and we had donuts and Apple Cinnamon Cheerios for breakfast! Can you say breakfast of champions!?!? Then we quickly cleaned up the house and headed out to Cowabunga Bay. Dave LOVES the place and so I gave him two all day passes for his birthday so that we could go sometime before summer was over. It was a little windy that afternoon, so we were a little chilly when we were cold, but for the most part we were fine and had SO much fun!!
Me in front of the lazy river. This is definitely my favorite thing about Cowabunga.
Dave just got dumped with the 3 ton bucket of water that dumps every 5 minutes or so. He loved it!!
We love Cowabunga Bay!!
After Cowabunga Bay, we headed home and got ready for the evening. We stopped at Utah-Idaho Supply on our way in to meet my Mom and sister in Salt Lake. For my graduation, Dave gave me a gift certificate for Utah-Idaho Supply (a teaching supply store...It is a teacher's dream come true). So...I got to do a little shopping and didn't feel TOO guilty, because I had a gift card. I bought some cute bulletin board decorations, some birthday crowns and stickers, and some Star of the Week posters. I am SOO excited to use all of my things!
Then, we went downtown to meet my Mom and sister, who were going to the Josh Groban concert with us. We went to Buca di Beppo for dinner and I was really looking forward to it for a two reasons. One, because we NEVER go out to dinner, and two, because Dave had never been and I thought he would like it a lot. Turns out he did like it a lot, and the food was AMAZING!
This was the "hot pad" for our pizza we ordered. Really. They just put the pizza dish right on top of the can.
My Mom and my little sister
Check out the dessert!! Have you ever seen anything so big?? The table next to us ordered it and we had to get one too, just because it was so large!
We were SO sick after we finished eating everything. We thought that we might explode if we ate another bite of food in our entire life. Then we headed over to the Energy Solutions Arena for.....JOSH GROBAN!!!! Can we just talk for a minute about how much I love him?? He is one of my favorite singers of all time. I am pretty much obsessed with the man, and was SO excited for his concert!!
The girls ANXIOUSLY awaiting the start of the concert!
Dave was so sad he had to buy me that T-Shirt, but I was really happy!! What a good husband, huh?? :)
February Song
February Song. This is Dave's favorite song that he sings, and probably our favorite song of the whole concert! He is just so good!
He is such a talented musician, because he sounds just as good live as he does on his CDs. That is the mark of a good musician. He also plays the piano for a lot of his songs. He is the real deal!
Little did we know, he also plays the drums too! What a guy!
You Are Loved (Don't Give Up). This arrangement was a little different than the one on his CD. It was a little more quiet and mellow, with a little more acoustic guitar. I loved it! It was so beautiful!
We were lucky that our camera passed inspection and that we were able to bring it in, because we got some GREAT pictures! We were on the 18th row, but from our pictures you couldn't tell that. Our pictures look like we were on the 3rd or 4th row.
He and his band were just so great. I was going nuts. I was in heaven!!!!!
As part of his concert, he invited some people up to the stage. He chose a couple that had been married for 39 years, a single 18 year old girl, and a ten year old boy. He had no idea that it was the 18 year old girl's birthday and he sang her Happy Birthday. She was FREAKING out!! I would be too. Man alive, she was one lucky girl! He also asked them all what they would like to drink. The older couple just wanted water, but the young boy wanted milk, so Josh grabbed a gallon of cold milk (from where, we have NO idea!) It was so funny, and just fun to see him interacting with the audience that way.
You Raise Me Up. This was his encore performance, and was phenomenal! He had been singing for an hour and a half, and still had the energy and vocal power to sing this beautiful song.
The concert was INCREDIBLE. I love him so so much. He is such a talented musician, and such a fun performer. We really, really wished it was longer. I could have listened to him sing all night..... :)
