The Puzzler

One of my favorite hobbies that I don't get to do very often is puzzles. I just love them! I grew up doing them, and maybe that's why I like them so much, even now. Growing up, each time it was time for general conference, Mom would pull out about a million little kid puzzles for us to do. I guess that's how she kept us quiet and entertained while she enjoyed watching conference. It was a big event at our house growing up, and all of the kids looked forward to "conference puzzles".

I tried to share my love of puzzles with Dave, and he was less than enthusiastic about the whole thing. Actually, I need to give him a little bit of credit. I started this puzzle on my birthday, because I knew that he would do anything I wanted him to on my special day, and I really wanted him to do it with me. I thought it would be a cute husband and wife thing to do together. We started turning over the pieces, we hadn't even put any together yet, and about 2 minutes into it, Dave asked if he could tell me something that wouldn't upset me. I said sure, and he said, "I'm already so bored of this puzzle." I told him that we hadn't even started yet, and he said, "I know. That's what I'm so worried about." Haha. I guess I should give him a little credit for trying.

Needless to say, I completed the puzzle by myself. All 1500 pieces of it (1499 actually, because one was missing. Missing puzzle pieces are one of my greatest pet peeves)! It was a fairy tale puzzle, and it was really hard. It took me a few weeks to finish it since I could only work on it in little increments of time. But I finally finished it, and I had to leave it up for a long time to celebrate my accomplishment!

I think Dave was overjoyed when I finally said it was okay to take it down. But...conference is this weekend. And I might just break out another puzzle! :)
