Mom and I made these cute pillows for my classroom. They're at the Book Nook, and my kids LOVE to lay down on them while they read their favorite stories.
I've really gotten into wood crafts lately. My new favorite store is the Wood Connection - I could spend SO much money there. These letters are above the Book Nook, and I just love the way they turned out.
Mom helped me with these. They are aprons for the Art Center in my classroom. We haven't used them yet, but the kids keep asking me when they get to wear them. They are so excited. We found most of the cute teacher fabric at JoAnn's. I had no idea they had so many cute school fabrics!
Wood crafts again. I actually made these for my friend's birthday, but they turned out so cute that I went back to the Wood Connection and made another one for me to put in my classroom.
Dave helped me with these. I'm so lucky that I have a husband who actually likes to help me with crafts and things. We had so much fun making these together. It's become one of our new favorite things to do together. I actually just bought some Thanksgiving wood crafts and we are planning on doing them this weekend together!
I really love making things. I love creating things. And I love this quote by President Uchtdorf. I think it kind of sums up my reasons for liking to craft and create things.
"The desire to create is one of the deepest
yearnings of the human soul. No matter our talents, education, backgrounds, or
abilities we each have an inherent wish to create something that did not exist
before. Everyone can create. You might say I’m not the creative type. If that
is how you feel, think again, and remember that you are spirit daughters of the
most creative being in the universe." - President Dieter F. Uchtdorf
I already have about 10 more craft ideas in my mind, and I can hardly wait to get started! :)
