I love surprises. And I love Dave. A lot. He always treats me like a princess, especially on special occasions. We celebrated our 3rd anniversary on June 6th, and Dave had the entire night planned for us. You know how we want to go to Italy, and he wanted to do one thing every month to get us in the "Italy Mood"? Well, this month's activity was our anniversary - he surprised me with dinner at Tuscany! We totally didn't fit in because it was so fancy there, and we didn't really know how to eat the food or which silverware to use, and we had to ask the waiters a lot of questions, but we still had so much fun. We even saw Mark Eaton there (the ex-Jazz Basketball player who owns the restaurant). He was the tallest man I've ever seen in real life. Ever.
You can't tell from this picture, but we were SO impressed that the menus lit up. We've never had something that fancy before!
Dave of course got the seafood dish, and was VERY excited about it. :)
The food was really fancy and really tasty, but the best part of dinner BY FAR was the dessert! I ordered Creme Bruluee, and it was the best dessert I've ever had. Better than the chocolate wall at P.F. Chang's, and that is saying something. I am quite a connoisseur of desserts! Mostly I was just happy that Dave took me to a nice place, and that we got to enjoy a quiet, fancy, romantic dinner together.
After dinner we walked around the gardens a bit. They were beautiful! This is right outside the front entrance.
After dinner, my next surprise was to head down to City Creek to pick out a fancy perfume for me to buy. I'd been telling Dave I wanted one for awhile, but couldn't actually buy it because they were too expensive. He told me that I needed to pamper myself a little bit, and he let me pick out whichever one I wanted. We went to Macy's, and we sampled LOTS of perfume. We felt like real perfume shoppers as we had a jar of coffee beans in one hand (they purge the smell out of your nose, so you can try lots of perfumes without having the fragrances mix), and a whole handful of papers with sprayed perfume on them. I wish we would have taken a picture, but I think we were just having too much fun to remember! I ended up getting Clinique Happy, and I love it so much. I think of our fun anniversary date every time I spray it.
After my fun shopping trip, we went home to open presents! My present was mostly the perfume, but Dave also bought me a teacher bag to use for next year! It is super cute, and is way more effective than my old one which had about a million holes in it and everything always fell out of it as a result. :) He also gave me a home made card, which I loved more than any of my presents - it was so sweet and I just cried and cried when I read it. I have the best husband in the world, and I love being married to him.
No special occasion for Dave would be complete without a gift involving history of some sort. 4 of those gifts are history related - and he was thrilled!
So so cute! You guys are my favorite!!! Happy anniversary!!!
