24th of July

I really like parades - a lot. I think that's one of my favorite parts about July is the parades. I've only been to the Days of '47 parade once, and it was pretty crazy trying to find a parking spot and a place to sit. People are crazy about that parade - they camp out the day before and sleep over on the side of the road to get a spot for the parade. We weren't that crazy, but my family and I decided to head down early in the morning to find a spot and watch the parade. We got there early enough that we got to park pretty close, and we even found a spot without too much trouble. We got all settled, and still had about an hour and a half before the parade started. We were there EARLY! So, we sent my little sister to the new Harmons to buy some donuts and juice for us to have for breakfast, and I read my book until the parade started. I wish I would have remembered to take more pictures, but I was just too engrossed in the parade, I guess.

Enjoying ourselves before the parade starts

We were all trying to stay out of the sun! I let Jeff borrow my sunglasses, and the paper conductor hat that Union Pacific Railroad passed out before the parade started. Haha. He looked so funny. :)

Isn't my Mom cute? I love this picture of her!

The parade was great, and I think I'll try to go again next year, even though it required getting up pretty early and it was pretty hot. The rest of the day was just spend lounging around and being lazy with family - and what could be better than that, right??
