Here are a few things that have been happening with us lately:
The pictures from our family photo shoot are done, and I think they turned out pretty good!
Lydia looks like a CHUB in this picture! She doesn't usually look this chubby, I promise. :)
My little sister Stephanie with all of her nieces and nephews. I love the crying babies and little Garrett just sitting off by himself. Haha!
My family minus the babies
My parents got three new grand-babies this year! 2013 was the year of babies for my family.
All the grand-kids. Aren't they the cutest??
Me and the sibs.
Lydia is three months old!!
I can't believe she's outgrown all of her newborn and 0-3 clothes. I was kind of sad as I was putting them away, because I don't always like seeing her grow up. I love how little and tiny she is, and putting clothes away means that one stage of her first year of life is over. :( But, there are some really fun things about the new stage she's in and here are a few of them.
She actually kind of likes her bath now! She hardly ever cries when it's time for a bath.
She's sort of starting to figure out how to play with toys. We still have a long way to go with this, but she can at least hold a toy in her hand and look at it.
She's big enough to sit in her Bumbo chair! She'll sit in it while we fix dinner and just talk to us the whole time.
She LOVES to eat her hands. She is constantly sucking on them.
She drools ALL the time, and sometimes she makes funny sounds by blowing her lips together.
She talks with us all the time now! I just wish we could understand what we were saying. If she's ever fussy, you just have to talk to her and she'll usually calm right down. She loves being talked to, and now she can talk back. It's so fun to be able to see her interacting with us.
This was her first semi-successful attempt at tummy time. She still hates it pretty bad, but is getting better.
We are currently in week 6 of our diet! You know what that means?? We're halfway done!!! It is still going well, but the eating is still hard for me. But, I have been 100% with it, even though it is so awkward sometimes in social situations when you can't eat what everyone else is eating and everyone thinks you're a crazy person. I'm down 8 pounds so far, and hope to get down a few more by the time 6 more weeks are over.
I am starting to make more sewing projects with my mom. I am developing such a love for quilting, and my mom couldn't be more excited about that. :) We're working on a block of the month quilt, and it is so much fun. Since we're only doing one block a month, it will take a long time, but when it is done it will look so great! I'm definitely getting better at sewing, which is fun for me to see. While we were making our blocks, I actually did mine perfect the FIRST TIME, and my mom had to unpick hers and start over! I think that's the first time in the history of forever that that has happened. I'm also working on another Cat In The Hat quilt, and we're going to start some pillowcases as well. Stay tuned for the finished Cat In The Hat product. It will be done pretty soon!
Our first block for our quilt
I love being a mom, and I love watching Dave be a dad. I love my family, and I love the gospel. I love Jesus Christ and I love being His daughter. I am so blessed! Life is GOOD, and I want to always remember that. :)
