One of the random Christmas presents that I received was the season to a British TV Series called “Downton Abbey.” Dave stumbled upon it by accident while shopping at Costco. He was looking at the DVDs there and noticed a lady looking at the series. Dave knows how much I love British shows, and he asked the lady what she knew about it. She raved about it so much that Dave thought it was worth the risk to buy it from Costco and check it out. So the other night we tried out the new show. We were hooked from the opening credits! The series begins in April of 1912 with the sinking of the Titanic. It follows the lives of an aristocratic family and their house servants and it is filled with humor, drama, crazy cliff-hangers and innumerable lovable characters. We watched the whole season in three days! The second season which has recently completed its run in England, began last Sunday on PBS’ Masterpiece Theater, and we watched the first episode of Season Two. We are dying to watch the next episode this Sunday, and I even plan on spending my day off on Martin Luther King Day watching the whole thing over again with my mom! Dave may not want me to tell you this, but he uploaded the theme song as his ringtone on his phone! We are obsessed with the show, and can’t stop speculating about what will happen next. We love the characters and Dave of course, loves the historical aspect of the show. And for me, who loves the British drama, this show is a must see. I hope everyone watches this show, as it is seriously our new favorite show! We are completely and totally obsessed!!
