Random Recent Goings On

So...I've kind of been a blog slacker lately. Here are a few recent goings on in the lives of Jen and Dave.
  • We bought a house! Crazy, huh?? Read all about that story on our homeownership post.
  • I've finally gotten over my month and a half long sickness! It started with strep throat, and I think I got a new disease/sickness every week from my cute kiddos at school who don't know how to wash their hands or cover their mouths when they cough. I've had every form of runny nose, sore throat, sinus congestion, cough, headache, earache - pretty much you name it, I had it.
  • We celebrated Halloween! Dave was Fred Flintstone and I was a witch. My Kindergarteners thought it was HILARIOUS that I was a witch. We had a really fun party at school, and Dave and I had fun passing out candy to the kids who stopped by.
  • I survived my first parent teacher conferences! I was terrified. I didn't really have any idea of what to expect, but I feel like I did an okay job. I definitely know what to do better for next time. :)
  • I finished my Halloween cross stitch project! I got the actual sewing part done in time for Halloween, but because it has to be custom framed and takes such a long time to do it, we didn't get it hung up before Halloween. I actually don't even have it back yet, so when I do, you'll get to see a picture. It turned out pretty darn cute.
  • Dave is almost finished with his 2nd to last semester of graduate school! Next spring he will be all the way finished! Wahoo!
  • We made a quick weekend trip to Disneyland made possible by our friend Clayton's free hotel stay, and a cheap hotel in Las Vegas provided by Dave. The entire trip cost us 350 dollars. Not bad for a Disneyland trip, huh?? We did both parks in one day, and the day just happened to be the Saturday of UEA (also known as Utahns' Exodus to Anaheim). It was ridiculously busy and crazy, but we had such a fun time. How could we not?? It's the happiest place on earth - Disneyland!! We made a quick stop in Los Angeles to see the Hollywood sign and see the Chinese theater. I don't know that we'll ever do that again, but at least now we can say we've seen both things. We had a great time with the McDonald's and are so happy that we were able to get away for a weekend.

This is the new look for California Adventure. They are trying to make it look more like the California Walt Disney saw when he first arrived in the 20's.

We got into the park VERY early (thanks to our obsession with Disneyland). But, it paid off because we were able to get a great picture with Halloween Mickey. We had SO much fun with our friends!!!
At the animation studios. The character I was most like was Lady, from Lady and the Tramp. What???

Dave was Tarzan. That makes a little more sense.

Voice Overs at the animation studios. Clayton and Amanda's was the best, so we had to post it here.

Sorry to be such a blogger slacker. I will really try to do better.
