Josh Groban came into town last weekend, and we were lucky enough to get to go! My cute mom gave me and Dave and Stephanie tickets for our birthdays, so we all got to go together with her to the concert. It was simply amazing. We all went together last time he came to Salt Lake, and we had gone to eat at Buca Di Beppo beforehand and enjoyed it so much that we wanted to go again. It was just as yummy as we remembered, and so fun to just be together.
We were just a WEE bit excited about the evening, if you couldn't tell!
He of course had an opening act, which is always so frustrating to me. I just get so anxious to see him perform and knowing that I have to wait through another person singing just gives me anxiety. She had a good voice, but sang some pretty crazy music at like 1,000,000 decibels. At one point, we looked over at my mom and she was hunched over with her fingers in her ears - luckily we had some earplugs in our camera bag (don't ask me why!) and so we surrendered them to her so she could stop with the hunch. :)

We could hardly wait!!
Singing Brave - isn't he just awesome??
This one was Dave's favorite song, February Song. SUCH a pretty song, and he was just singing his face off while playing the song at the same time. What a guy!
...and him in action.
We all decided that one of the neatest things about the concert was to see how much of a musician he is. He is a crazy fantastic singer, but he does more than just sing. He also plays the piano and the drums and writes a bunch of his own music. It was cool to see him in action, and to realize how much more there is to him than just a singer.

This is one of my favorite songs of his - Starry, Starry Night. It is really one of my top 5, and I've never heard him sing it live. It was absolutely beautiful, and I'm so glad he decided to sing it this tour. It has the most beautiful guitar accompaniment I've ever heard.
He had a circular stage in the middle of the arena, which was really cool. There wasn't really a bad seat in the house, and it was so fun that he could move around and face different parts of the audience at different times so everyone felt like they got their fair share of "face time".
We just LOVED the concert, and can't wait for him to come back again. He has so many songs now that it's hard not to get disappointed when he doesn't sing all the ones I want to hear - there just simply isn't enough time. But, we kept putting the bug in my mom's ear that we want this to be a tradition each time he comes to town. Haha! Hopefully she got the very subtle message, and hopefully we can go again next time he comes.
